Just like skiing, kids can start young when it comes to dog sledding, so long as they’re properly taught and watched over.
That’s the philosophy behind BabyPark, a new range of special dog sledding centres that have opened in recent seasons within the Savoie Mont Blanc region of France.
The BabyPark allows children aged from three to seven to learn dog sledding in a safe environment with equipment used especially adapted for use by little ones and the dogs are specially trained to be with children.
Following the initial centres opening in the ski areas of Praz de Lys and Val d’Arly in Notre Dame de Bellecombe (pictured above) which opened last winter, a third BabyPark has opened this winter at Les Saisies.
The BabyPark has a chalet where children can warm up after a session of fun learning, or go inside to play when it snows.
The BabyPark concept has been created by Frédéric Borgey and Elsa Jougla who have now franchised their idea and it is now being exported to Germany, Italy and Norway.
