We’ve been lucky enough to be out in Courchevel this week, making the most of the incredible snowfall they’ve been experiencing so far this season. In our first Courchevel Snow Report and Forecast 19 January 2018, Rob from Ski Press gives us a detailed look at the current conditions in the resort.

Courchevel has seen a lot of snow in recent weeks, with this week no exception. The snow has been falling throughout the week and the storm really hit on Wednesday, with most of the ski area having to close due to high winds – as you can see below.

However the winds calmed down on Thursday and we got some fantastic skiing in, with the fresh snow feeling really great underfoot. For the coming few days, Courchevel is set to see a lot more snow, with up to a metre anticipated. Then, on Tuesday, the sun is set to reappear, which will make for some absolutely amazing skiing conditions. Winds will drop and temperatures will rise, with the sunshine forecast to stay for a few days.

Rosie from Ski Weekends is also in the area, and set us in this report from Courchevel 1850 today.

There should also be some awesome powder for those that want to get their powder fix. As ever though, heavy snowfall does mean that you need to be very aware of your safety on the mountain, so be sure to check avalanche risk and take all necessary precautions if you are heading off piste.

This week, we were lucky enough to stay with Alpine Lodges, who provide luxury new builds in Courchevel and have some absolutely stunning apartments and chalets in the best locations. They’ve also just opened a new restaurant in Courchevel, Bistro Le C, which is definitely worth a visit.
