Chalet Company Guarantees Snow

The leading independent chalet holiday company in the French ski resort of  Les Gets has unveiled a new insurance policy its clients can buy, which will refund their chalet booking cost if only a small amount of the ski area is open two days before their due to travel.

The policy has a number of other helpful benefits rarely seen in conventional travel policies including the possibility of getting your chalet booking cost refunded if your boss insists you need to stay at work the week you’re planning to be away, or if a beloved pet needs care.

It will also offer some compensation if rather than two little snow, your trip to resort is delayed by too much snow blocking access routes.

This new no-snow insurance policy has been launched by Chalets1066 in partnership with Trustiway Insurance and costs an extra 5% of whatever the chalet booking costs. Finally, it also covers accidental damages to the chalet through the stay, covering any of these costs.

Mark Nathan, Managing Director of Chalets1066, said: “We understand the nervousness that our customers have when booking a skiing holiday before the winter. That’s why we are introducing our unique Snow Guarantee. If less than 23 pistes in the Les Gets-Morzine ski area are open 48 hours before their stay, then the insurance policy will cover a full refund on accommodation. Customers can book their stay in Les Gets with the confidence that even if the snow doesn’t show, Chalets1066 has got their back.”

For the less than 23 runs being open rule, the local ski lift company of Les Gets, SAGETS, must confirm the status of the ski area officially.

If excessive snow prevents you reaching Les Gets by road, the policy will refund guests accordingly. For personal illness, sickness of a pet, to employers cancelling a holiday, refunds will be provided (proof from a doctor and/or an employer would be required).

The Snow Guarantee policy does not cover many of the things you need a conventional travel insurance policy for such as medical insurance, accidents on the slopes, your travel costs to and from Les Gets or loss of personal items. The policy only applies between December 15 2023 and April 1, 2024. Full terms and conditions can be found on the Chalets1066 website.
