Borovets

Nestled in the heart of the breathtaking Rila mountain in Bulgaria, Borovets is a modern four-season resort with an excellent network of ski slopes and lifts, cosy alpine hotels and numerous dining and entertainment options.

Borovets is the first mountain resort on the Balkan peninsula, dating back to 1896 when the summer residence of the Bulgarian monarch at the time – Kniaz Ferdinand and several hunting lodges were built there.

The resort quickly started to attract members of the Bulgarian elite and soon expanded to an attractive winter sports center with numerous ski slopes, lifts and alpine-style hotels, based on the French Les Arcs model.

Today Borovets offers great opportunities for all types of winter sports for beginners and Pro riders alike – alpine skiing, snowboarding, freestyle, freeride, ski touring, cross country and biathlon.
