In a cross over between Alpine Ski World Cup racing and sponsor Audi’s primary business, cars, three of the word’s current top three skiers will compete this weekend on the motor racing track rather than the ski piste.
Germany’s Felix Neureuther, Austria’s Marcel Hirscher (pictured) and Norway’s Aksel Lund Svindal will be on the grid in Spielberg (Austria) along side 21 other drivers this weekend, 1st and 2nd August 2015, competing in the Audi Sport TT Cup.
Getting the skiing stars to compete was no easy matter and took months to organise said Project Leader Rolf Michl, who commented,
“This challenge is really special in the history of our cup, Neureuther, Hirscher and Svindal are three absolute superstars from Alpine Skiing.”
