For some people skiing on snow indoors in pretty odd, then doing it outside the ski season in a desert country where outdoor temperatures are often +40C or more is more surreal still.  Now SkiDubai is going a step further by offering anyone who heads to their slopes this Thursday dressed in a superhero costume half-price access to the slopes.

X-Men  actor Hugh Jackman helped promote the event, by video-link, saying, “Hi, Ski Dubai. I wish I was with you in the slopes in Dubai.  Never thought I would say ‘skiing in Dubai’. That city, you can do anything.”

Jackman was promoting X-Men: Days of Future Past, which opens in May and the promotion at Ski Dubai is tied in to Freestyle nights (staged between 8pm and 11pm) which is to feature themed X-men jumps, obstacles and other freestyle challenges.

Anyone dressed as a superhero will receive a 50 per cent discount – and will have to pay only Dh100 instead of the regular Dh200.  Non-skiers usually need to pay Dh100 to enter, but they also receive a 50 per cent discount to Dh50 if dressed as a superhero.

Non-skiers and snowboarders can also try free falling from a custom built 12-metre tall tower that allows them to jump onto a 10 metre wide airbag within Ski Dubai.
