First Five Star Hotel For Les Arcs

Les Arcs will open its first five star hotel this winter, the Taj I Mah in Arc 2000.

The famous ski centre, part of the vast Paradiski region shared with neighbouring La Plagne, follows a trend in French resort since the country first introduced the highest five-star level in 2009 (previously 4 star was the maximum here) in opening a five star.

Located at the arrival of the “Le Cabriolet” gondola with ski-in/ski-out access, the 48 room And suite hotel offers stunning views and has large windows throughout to take advantage of this and to let in the light.

All rooms and suites will have a spacious private balcony, bathroom with bath and separated toilets and are all equipped with flat screen, , wifi access, mini-bar, nespresso coffee machine and private safe.

The hotel will feature two restaurants, a lounge-bar, south facing panoramic terrace and 400 square metre spa with swimming pool, sauna, Hammam, Jacuzzi, salt wall, experience showers, relaxing zone, and solarium.  Spa treatments will be available in four comfortable massage rooms run by Cinq Môndes.

The restaurants will be managed by 1 star Michelin’s Guide chef Eric Samson. The “Diamant Noir” will offer a gastronomic experience and “La Rotisserie” a wide variety of meals including truffe and local specialties.

Across French ski resorts Courchevel now has more than 20 five star hotels and Val d’Isere half-a-dozen too, and some areas less known as luxury destinations, including La Clusaz, also now have five star hotels. However Les Arcs is slightly different in that it previously had almost entirely apartment accommodation, most of it budget to ‘family-friendly’ mid-range.  hotel-tajimah.com/en
