Online women’s outdoor apparel retailer Latitude have this winter launched White Friday, a new take on the Black Friday weekend, born from concern about the impact this huge shopping event is having on the planet.
The event will run from the 29th November until the 2nd December, and hopes to raise awareness of climate change in the outdoor sports community.
Latitude hopes this is the start of a more sustainable shopping movement, and will inspire other members of the Outdoor retail community to join the campaign in the future.
“We all need clothes, but every purchase takes a toll on Planet Earth. We believe each purchase should be made with consideration to the sustainability, sourcing and longevity of the garment. We encourage our customers to shop consciously and thoughtfully, helping to reduce our impact on the Planet” says Helen Astle, Latitude CEO and Founder.
Latitude curates the best outdoor attire for a growing community of women who love the outdoors, with carefully selected brands that offer exceptional performance as well as taking real, positive steps to reduce their environmental impact.
