The RECCO® Rescue System is two-part technology.
Ski resorts and rescue teams carry RECCO ® detectors. The detector sends out a directional search signal, which is echoed by RECCO ® reflectors worn by skiers, riders and other outdoors people.
The RECCO ® system is a technology which helps rescuers to find victims of avalanche burials or to search for people lost in the outdoors.
More than 30 years ago the first RECCO® systems weighed around 16kg, nowadays the detector is a 1kg and is no bigger than a cell phone or an avalanche transceiver. The reflector has now reduced to the size where you cannot even notice that you have it on you.
