A chalet holiday company has launched a number of ski holiday packages for vegans and other ‘special diet’ skiers to cope with demand for meat-free dining. Vegan, gluten and nut-free weeks are all being offered.

Ski Beat, which operates at seven leading ski resorts in the French Alps. say they are responding to record levels of demand for special diets with food a big part of the chalet holiday experience.

Guests enjoy breakfast, home-made cakes, canapés and aperitifs, a three course evening meal and unlimited wine and coffee during their holiday.

“10 years ago, it was rare to be asked for special menus,” Sales & Marketing director Laura Hazell told website Plant Based News, adding “Now, we have so many requests we are dedicating specific weeks this coming season especially for those who either cannot eat certain food types, or choose not to.”

Vegan weeks are scheduled to run from December 15 at the company’s Chalet Cristal 5 in Val d’Isere and from January 5 at Chalet Bouquetin in Les Arcs).
