Kronplatz ski area in the Dolomites has shown its commitment to rail access to its 100km of slopes with a €25m spend on new railway station.
The station is perfectly connected to the ski slopes with a gondola lift linking direct to the station platform and a new 7.2km long ski slope reported to have been created to allow ski-in, ski-out access to and from the slopes.
“This ambitious project connects the slopes to the local railway network making getting to the slopes much more relaxed and scenic whilst also reducing traffic on the roads,” said a statement on behalf of the area.
