There were some big snowfalls at some (although far from all) Swiss resorts a little over a week ago, but otherwise there’s been very little no snow.  Andermatt, Saas fee and Zermatt only could report 20-40cm of fresh snow on their higher slopes at the weekend.

The sun is now out across the country giving glorious on piste conditions at most resorts, but the off piste is largely skied out and cruddy now.

Only about a quarter of Swiss resorts are still reporting snow cover at resort level now, due to a thaw at lower altitudes.  Of those that do, only high-altitude Arosa has more than a foot, with 80cm in resort.  Verbier has quite good numbers for the last month of its season though with 30-200m of snow on its slopes.

There’s not much fresh snow expected in Switzerland in the week ahead but upper slope bases should be enough to see most resorts through t the end of their seasons over the next 2-5 weeks.
