After a warmer spell over the past few days it’s looking like another wintry weekend on the way with snow falling today above 700m (the top of the Access Chair at Glencoe).
There is not enough snow for skiing or snowboarding but like last weekend there should be some for playing in, making snowmen and sledging at the five Highland ski centres.

“We had a couple of very keen skiers and boarders out last weekend getting in those all important first turns of the season. Conditions were very thin and rocky but I believe they managed to ski or board from the summit all the way back to the top of the Access Chair. The Access chairlift is open from 9am until 4pm daily for access up to the snow,” a Glencoe spokesperson said.
SnowFactories
Whatever the natural snowfall does Scotland’s ski season looks set to get underway by mid-December when the first of three Snow Factory all-weather snowmaking units for Glencoe, the Lecht and Cairngorm should be on site, making snow on slopes up to 150 metres in length.
At Cairngorm on Thursday and pic top is Cairngorm on Monday 13th Nov:
