The resort of Warth-Schröcken is planning three days of celebrations will host three days of celebrations from 6th to 8th December, to mark the new Auenfeldjet lift connection of the area to Lech in Arlberg, a connection reputedly dreamt of for 41 years and due to open on Friday, December 6th.

Live music from popular German band Die Atzen, along with support acts, DJs and fireworks will create a party atmosphere that combines festival fun with the chance to be one of the first skiers or snowboarders to experience this newly connected area.

“We are delighted to finally link up with Lech-Zürs to offer our visitors a large choice of slopes that complement our own ski area,” said Angela Schwarzmann, Director of the Warth-Schröcken Tourist Office, “We have already been busy taking enquiries about our new connection and because we offer fantastic value for money, combined with what’s now a world class ski area, we believe that will appeal to both families and individuals who like to get the most from their skiing’.

Martina Brenner, Hotel Manager of the four star Lechtalerhof in Warth is also excited by the new connection which will mean 190km of linked ski runs on the Lech side of the Arlberg area, and 340km in the full Arlberg region including bus-linked St Anton and added, “We are already getting busy and working with a UK tour operator like snow-wise means we will attract more British skiers which is fantastic.”
