Park City has announced plans to try to re-take the world record for the most people drinking a shot from a very, very long ‘shotski’, which it formerly held, before the record was taken from them by Breckenridge.

The famous ski towns, the Utah one once having had strict alcohol consumption laws, both now with their local ski mountains aimed by Vail resorts, have been out-doing each other to take and re-take the title for several years now and the skis keep getting longer.

In 2018, Park City took the title back when 1,275 people tipped back an 840 metre long ski, only to see Breckenridge line up 1,299 shot ski drinkers.

Park City is coming back with, they hope, 1,310 simultaneous drinkers on Saturday, October 12th, thanks to the local High West distillery and the city’s Rotary Club, who hope to raise $40,000 for good causes from the stunt, coming mostly from a $25 participation fee.
