Jasmin “Jaz” Taylor, Britain’s most successful ever World Cup ski racer, has secured the Telemark Overall and Sprint Crystal Globes for the first time, after more than a decade on the circuit.

Taylor (30), secured the globes, awarded to those with the most points accumulated through the course of the season, with a series of excellent performances to conclude her 23-24 season at the World Cup Finals in Pra Loup, France.

Taking second place in the final Sprint race of the season and winning the last Parallel Sprint gave Taylor unassailable leads in both rankings in a season that saw her take eleven World Cup podiums, including five wins.

Jaz has previously taken second place in the Overall, Classic, Sprint, and Parallel Sprint standings in past seasons, but until now not quite taken top spot.

Taylor began skiing on a dry ski slope in Ipswich, initially skiing Alpine, but took up Telemark skiing at the age of 15 after being invited to train in Les Houches, France, by the British Ski Academy. One of her first international competitions came in 2011 at the World Youth Telemarking World Championships in Norway. She then won Britain’s first World Championship medal in 2015.  She’s now taken more than 50 World Cup podiums.
