Jackson Hole in Wyoming has topped a poll of readers of Ski magazine in the USA, which has 145,000 subscribers of whom a comparatively high proportion, 10,000 responded to a request to rate resorts in 20 categories.
Given it’s long term reputation as a ‘niche’ and ‘extreme skiing’ resort, Jackson Hole’s top spot is unusual with more ‘mainstream’ resorts like Deer Valley in Utah, Whistler in BC and Vail, Colorado past winners.
Ski Magazine’s editor Greg Ditrinco said the public recognition reflected the success of Jackson Hole’s management in translating the resort’s global reputation in to a wider appeal and then delivering a quality of service people appreciate.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort threw a civic party to celebrate its win.
