The ASD Fairplay association is organising two days on the snow dedicated to skiers with disabilities this month. The organisation will offer specialist instructors free of charge at the Italian resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo to allow people with disabilities to experience the thrill of skiing.

Specialist equipment for para and quadriplegics, blind skiers, mono-skis and amplifiers will be made available free of charge and the initiative takes place on the perfectly groomed slopes of the famous Italian resort to help ensure a smooth experience.

The entire Dolomiti Superski area of which Cortina is a part will offer a discount of 20% on skipasses for skiers with a disability in excess of 51%. Skiers with a 100% mental handicap will get a 50% reduction on the skipass, and their carers get 30% off. The skipass is free of charge for blind skiers and half price for the person accompanying.

Lower limb amputees must be equipped with their own prosthesis made specifically for skiing. The teacher-student ratio will be 1:1.
