Val d’Isère, linked to Tignes, offers 300 km of pistes – many of which sit above 3,000 m – a top beginner area, first-class restaurants, plus welcoming bars.
The Alpina Lodge offers beautiful, self-catered apartments in the heart of the buzzing town, just 500 metres from the main ski lifts. Each accommodation comes with a fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher and cafetière, plus visitors can make use of the television and Wi-Fi throughout.
Linen and towels will be provided, and beds will be made, ready for guests, plus a welcome basket, with a selection of moreish croissants will be delivered to the door on the first morning to get guests into the French skiing spirit.
After exploring the slopes, return to the Alpina Lodge and rustle up some food in the kitchen before settling down on the comfy sofas. Guests can also hire local cooking equipment – such as raclette grills – for a special evening in.
