Crystal Ski are promoting the benefits of going on one of their ski holiday packages by rail, rather than flying.
“Admittedly, a plane’s speed is faster, but on a train you can travel in comfort, your skis or snowboard is free, and, if you travel on Friday night out and Saturday night back, you get eight days of skiing instead of six,” said a Crystal spokesperson.
Skiing by rail offers ski holidays by train not just at the same prices as flight packages, but without all the restrictions if you fly, and on arrival in the Alps, the train stations are close to the French Alpine ski resorts, with most being under an hour’s drive away. So if you’re on the Eurostar overnight service, you could have a lift pass, ski hire sorted and be up on the mountain skiing early on Saturday morning, say the company.
Rail services also offer free carriage of skis and no baggage weight limit and Crystal customers can upgrade to Standard premier for £40 which brings many benefits including complimentary drinks, a meal, roomy seats and newspapers.
Direct weekly Eurostar trains run to stations in France serving all resorts in the 3 Valleys, Paradiski, L’Espace Killy and Valmorel.
