Crystal Ski Holidays have announced they’re adding Sun Peaks, the joint second-largest ski area in Canada, to its portfolio for next winter 2016/17 season. The programme will go on sale from today, 15 March 2016.

Sun Peaks, which receives around 6m of snow on average each season, is located in the interior of British Columbia, and offers skiing across three mountains with over 4,270 acres of terrain on long cruisers and bumps, steep slopes as well as off-piste in Alpine bowls.  The pedestrian base offers ski-in, ski-out accommodation and a diversity of dining options.

The longest run is nearly 8km (5 miles) and the resort has 12 lifts (three high speed quad chairlifts, two quad chairlifts, one triple chairlift and six surface lifts).  The Rockstar Energy Terrain Park is a 10-acre park with distinct zones for all abilities.

“Featuring Sun Peaks is long overdue, after all we are talking about Canada’s second largest ski area with a great snow record and terrain to suit all abilities,” said Gordon Ritter, Crystal’s Purchasing Director, adding, “Access is easy, a one stop flight from London via Kamloops and a 45 minute transfer. And while you’re there don’t forget to join the mayor Al Raine and his wife Olympian Nancy Greene on a tour of the ski area.”

Sun Peaks is also the only resort in Canada to have applied for and received the ISO 14001 international environmental management standard, recognising the management of the environmental and social impacts by identifying areas for reduction in energy and other resource consumption as well as preventing pollution.

The price for a week’s stay at the three-star Nancy Greene’s Cahilty Lodge in Sun Peaks is from £966 per person (based on two sharing) with Air Canada flights from London Heathrow to Kamloops via Calgary departing on 11 January 2017 and transfers.

Crystal are currently offering a £199 saving with a two-for-one lift pass deal (for bookings made  by 31 August 2016).
