After the opening of the world’s highest zipwire at Val Thorens earlier this year, Tignes have announced their latest high altitude thrill attraction will debut on 21st December.
The new Bun J Ride combines ski jumping, bungee jumping and zip wire and is being described by the resort as an ‘adrenaline overdose.
Riders are equipped with a harness attached on each side of them at the waist to two mobile elasticated cords. Then from the top of the ski jump you simply travel down a ski jump style runway approximately 30 metres long that ends with a drop down into a 40-metre void.
The two elasticated bungee cords provide support and the system automatically locks and once you’ve stopped bouncing and you then travel down a zip wire to the ground.
The jump is situated next to the “Lac” blue run, accessed by the Merles, chairlift, you need to be at least 13 years old to try it, and a maximum weight of 40kg. You can try the jump wearing skis, a snowboard or even on a sledge!
Bun J Ride will be open, everyday (except on Saturdays) from 10.30am to 4.30pm, until April 18th 2015. Various ticket options include ‘Ski Maniac’ for 65 Euros and the ‘Love jump’ for two people at 115 Euros. bun-j-ride.com
