An innovative lift ticket launched this season will have wider coverage in 2013-14 it has been announced.
The Mountain Collective, which offers two days each at a selection of major North American ski areas will include Mammoth Mountain, Snowbird and Whistler Blackcomb next season, joining Alta, Aspen/Snowmass, Jackson Hole and Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows.
The ticket, which is valid all season, costs $349 (about £200) for which holders receive a total of up to 12 skiing days if they travel to all six regions included on the pass, which is valid for two days at each, although extra days can be added at each for 50% of the regular rate with no blackout dates.
The six regions are (1) Aspen Snowmass, (2) Whistler Blackcomb (3) Alta/Snowbird (4) Jackson Hole (5) Mammoth Mountain and (6) Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows – described by the participants as, “An unprecedented collaboration of resorts.”
