The Freeride World Tour is an annually toured series of events showcasing the best freeskiers and snowboard freeriders – snowsport fanatics come together from all over the world, battling it out for individual event wins, as well as the overall title of World Champion. The events takes place on ungroomed powder snow covering sheer mountainous slopes, making for tantalizing viewing to the party-going adrenaline junkie. What is more, The Freeride Word Tour is just a couple of hours from SWISS flying airport Geneva.
- Rock the Pistes Festival (26-30 March 2014)

Festival lovers should check out Portes du Soleil in (insert where it is) which plays host to the eagerly anticipated Rock the Pistes Festival. For 5 days in March the 12 French-Swiss resorts will play host to the radical new festival that returns for a 4th year from 26th– 30th March. Rock the Pistes promises to be the ultimate après-ski destination, with festival-goers soaking up the electric atmosphere whilst overlooking the immense Portes du Soleil slopes. The Festival is easily accessible, a couple of hours from the popular ski resorts of Champery, Avoriaz and Les Gets with SWISS operating flights to nearby Geneva. With acts including the likes of The Klaxons and Babyshambles, Rock the Pistes Festival is set to be an unmissable event for après ski party goers!
- The BRITS (30 March–5 April)
The highly renowned and long-established BRITS is the authentic week-long winter festival. Now in its 25th year, the BRITS attracts thousands of snow fanatics, novices and the inbetweeners alike to Europe’s premiere freestyle resort for a full-bore week of snow, music, dressing up and general debauchery. Renowned for its eclectic mix of live bands and DJ’s, The BRITS 2014 defiantly refuses to follow any rules and operates on a ‘if it rocks, it’s in’ policy! The BRITS is just a couple of hours away from Geneva airport, and there won’t be a James Corden in sight.
- SnowpenAir 2014 – Deep Purple (5 April)
More of a concert fan than a full on festival? Can only manage one or two days partying? Then Snowpen Air is for you. The SnowpenAir concert at Kleine Scheidegg has become a true Swiss tradition. At 2,061 metres above sea level, the highest open-air concert in the snow takes place at Kleine Scheidegg amidst the stunning scenery of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. National and international music acts are expected for the 17th time including Deep Purple along with co-headliner and Swiss-dialect rockers Gölä. SWISS operates flights to Zurich, within reach of the popular resorts of Grindelwald and Wengen.
- Zermatt Unplugged (8–12 April)

Love all kinds of music? Want a nice mix of time on the slopes and also taking in sounds of all types of musicians? Zermatt Unplugged is the only festival of its kind in Europe, founded in 2007 as a singer and songwriter festival; it has increasingly developed into a meeting point for fans of unadulterated sounds. Musicians and bands including Suzanne Vega, Chris de Burgh, Alanis Morissette and Reamonn have been inspired by the Unplugged concept and appeared on the festival’s tent and club stages.
