Gstaad has announced that guests will get the chance to groom the slopes there next winter,
Up to three groomers will be available every night of the season, with one novice groomer allowed in each, for the evening sessions which will take place on the Swiss resort’s largest sector, the Schönried – Saanenmöser – Zweisimmen area.
Starting at 5.30pm, participants can expect to spend 60 – 90 minutes in the machine, the operation of which and the work involved will be explained by the driver. Participants will receive a “grooming diploma” at the end of their shift – signed by the driver
Good shoes and warm winter clothing is all that’s required, and the cost to take part is 100 Swiss Francs (about £67). Any accompanying friends are welcome to watch from outside but are not allowed to ride along in the groomer.
