A new hotel in the South Tyrol has been designed and built in conjunction with a construction biologist, with the intention of focusing on sustainability and catering to sensitive, allergy-prone guests.

The 4 star Hotel Tirler Alm (www.hotel-tirler.com) is a ski in/out hotel located 1750m above sea level in Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm – the ski area next to Val Gardena.

Run by the Rabanser family, the hotel is an entirely pollen-free zone, and boasts a chef de cuisine who will rustle up dishes according to individual food allergies or intolerances.

Local materials were crucial in Tirler Alm’s construction, with Dolomite rock, larch and pine wood pervading, and modern elements such as heated clay walls combining convenience with a local touch in every room. Skiers and boarders will benefit from Tirler Alm’s location, connecting right onto Dolomiti Superski, with its 1200km of slopes.
