Eurostar has opened ticket sales for their ski services to the French Alps next winter, with tickets for services to Switzerland due to follow in the autumn.  The rail company that offers services from St Pancras, Ebbsfleet and Ashford in Kent via the Channel Tunnel,  offers day and night services direct to the French Alps with easy access to top resorts including Courchevel, Les Arcs, Meribel and La Plagne.

The 2014/2015 seasonal ski services will run weekly from 19 December 2014 until 11 April 2015 and skiers looking to hit the slopes can purchase return fares from £149. Skis and boards continue to be carried for free.

Eurostar runs a Friday overnight service which arrives in the French Alps early on a Saturday morning with the return leg departing late on a Saturday evening, allowing for eighty days on the slopes.  There are also Saturday day time services for a standard six day/seven night ski holiday.

The recently introduced  new Eurostar connecting service to Geneva via Lille will commence on 14 December and tickets released in October this year, offering skiers another convenient way to travel to some of the most popular ski resorts in Switzerland.

The current Eurostar train was first introduced into service in 1994 carrying 750 passengers and operating at speeds of up to 300kph.  Since then, the fleet of 28 trains has carried more than 130 million passengers between London and the Continent.  Following their refurbishment these trains will continue to form a core part of the Eurostar fleet. The new e320 will carry around 900 passengers at speeds of up to 320kph (200mph).
