The first of what are being promoted as, ‘the world’s first ski-in, ski-out treehouses,’ has just opened in Montana in advance of the next ski season.
Operator Snow Bear Chalets aims to have at least three luxurious ‘tree-house’ chalets available to rent by the slopes of Whitefish Mountain Resort in Northwestern Montana.
The treehouses are being built 25 feet (around 7.5 metres) above the forest floor, but only a few feet from the nearest ski runs with views into the mountains of nearby Glacier National Park.
“At some point in our lives, I think we’ve all dreamed of living in a storybook treehouse. Just because we’re adults doesn’t mean that dream has to end – even if it’s only for a week!” said Snow Bear developer Gail Lynne Goodwin
Each treehouse chalet sleeps from 6 to 10 people and has a soaring turret complete with 600 fibre-optic stars on the ceiling, in the form of constellations. Outside, each treehouse has a large deck high above the forest floor with an outdoor grill, dining area and a private hot tub.
“Life is short and we’re serious far too much. Imagine a place where your inner child can come out to laugh and play with people you love – that’s why we created Snow Bear,” added Goodwin.
When asked what he thought about the uniqueness of Snow Bear, the world’s first ski-in/ski-out treehouses, Sir Richard Branson reportedly said, “The best entrepreneurial ideas always start with crazy!”
