In Kühtai, located at an altitude of over 2,020 meters above sea level, guests have been able to get “up high” with the new “KühTeppich” conveyor lift from Sunkid.

At 204 metres long, the conveyor is the new longest covered moving carpet in Austria.

The lift functions as both a beginner’s lift and a connecting lift and welcomes guests to the Kühtai (coming from Innsbruck) as a visual eye-catcher.

The new lift replaces the ski area’s previous “baby lift” offering ski beginners and especially children from the age of three a simple and above all safe ascent aid. The nursery slope served has been significantly widened and lengthened to strengthen Kühtai’s image as a family winter paradise.

At the same time, experienced skiers can also use the ultra-modern “KühTeppich” and a new ski trail as a transfer lift between the valley stations of the Gaiskogel and Hoch-Alter lifts in both directions – without crossing the road or needed a long walk as was the case before. This means that even freeriders can get from the Gaiskogel back to the village center or hotel on the fastest (1.2 m/s) and most comfortable way (protected from the wind in the Evolus gallery).

Due to its length, including the XXL gallery, the modern Sunkid installation already makes its mark on the overall appearance of the ski area during the day. The installation looks even more impressive during night skiing on Wednesdays and Saturdays when the RGB LED lighting built into the gallery enables a variety of lighting options, with  varying colour changes or automatic switching on and off.
