Sainte Foy, the family-friendly French resort close to Les Arcs, La Rosiere and Val d’Isere/Tignes, is inviting young adventurers to swap skis for sleds this winter with its new “First Steps in Mushing” experience. Designed for children aged 5 to 12, this gentle introduction to dog sledding lets kids meet the huskies, learn basic commands, and enjoy a short ride through snowy woodland trails — all under the watchful eye of a professional musher.
The activity is part of Sainte Foy’s growing family-friendly offering, which also includes the popular Hunt the Yeti treasure trail. This free, self-guided adventure sends children on a quest across the resort to solve clues and spot signs of the elusive alpine creature — with a small prize waiting at the end for successful trackers.
Lift passes remain refreshingly affordable for families: children under 7s ski for free, while those aged 7-18 benefit from reduced rates across all durations. It’s part of Sainte Foy’s commitment to keeping skiing accessible and authentic, with a focus on nature, discovery and shared mountain moments.
