Crans-Montana Ready For Next Momentum Ski Festival

04 Feb 15

Skiers lucky enough to be heading to Crans-Montana this winter not only have 140km of well-designed pistes to enjoy but regular guests will also find several improvements to look forward to. A new six-seater chairlift has been installed, the Cabane de Bois piste upgraded and there’s new snowmaking cover from the bottom of that run over to the Passage Major and the Barmaz Y piste.

Crans-Montana is perched high on a sun-drenched plateau in the Valais region of Switzerland, and enjoys some of the most spectacular views in Europe, with an unsurpassed 200km vista stretching from the Matterhorn to Mont Blanc up the Rhône Valley.

Chic boutiques line the streets of the town’s centre, which is dotted with bars, restaurants and cafés, and the resort offers lots of non-ski related activities, including wellness centres and spas, a cinema, a bowling alley and ice skating.

Shops, spas and well-being centres are scattered throughout the resort and easily accessible via a courtesy resort shuttle service or taxi.

Between 12 and 15 March 2015, the Momentum Ski Festival will again take place in the resort.

The Festival incorporates the established City Ski Championships, which see up to 300 skiers from London and Europe’s financial community take part in a programme of skiing, race clinics and competitions, alongside an après-ski line-up that includes stand-up comedy, club nights and live music.

On the more serious side, the event also includes a Business Forum highlighting key challenges facing Europe’s financial community.

Many of the Festival’s guests opt to stay in the Crans Ambassador Hotel, one of the best in the resort, where the many attractions include the popular ski-in “Bar Lounge 180 degrees”.
