Swiss ski area Crans-Montana has emerged triumphant at the second edition of the World Raclette Championships staged recently, with local producer Alpage de la Cave du Sex clinching the coveted title of World Champion in the alpine raclette cheese category.
The prestigious accolade celebrates the region’s deep-rooted cheese-making heritage and the artisanal excellence of its mountain producers. Judged on appearance, texture, aroma, taste, and overall impression, the competition featured 150 cheeses from 12 countries, making the win a resounding endorsement of Crans-Montana’s alpine terroir.
“This distinction is a tribute to the passion and know-how of our local artisans,” said organisers, highlighting the living tradition of cheese-making that continues to thrive in the Swiss Alps.
Crans-Montana now invites raclette lovers from around the world to savour its award-winning cheeses and meet the producers who bring its alpine pastures to life. With this win, the region not only celebrates its culinary craftsmanship but also reaffirms its place on the global cheese map.
