After 15 years the very popular Musilac Festival, which takes place on the shores of Lake Bourget, Aix-les-Bains each winter attracting 80,000 rockand pop fans has decided to launch a ‘spring’ edition, and to stage it towards the end of the ski season in Chamonix.

Musilac Rock and ride … in the mountains will take place for the first time over three days from 19th –  21st April 2018, hosting around fifteen bands, including three headline artists.

The festival will take place in the Bois du Bouchet, best known for its paragliding landing site, with a capacity to welcome 15,000 spectators each evening.

“Since 1924 and the organisation of the first Winter Olympic Games, Chamonix Mont-Blanc has been renowned for hosting major international sporting events, and more recently the destination has diversified to offer an inspiring cultural dimension,” a statement from Chamonix announces, adding,

“In the wake of the Cosmojazz Festival (Chamonix, end of July) and the Electro Unlimited Festival (Chamonix, early April), the idea of creating a new event in Haute Savoie, in partnership with the team that has made Musilac so successful in the Savoie, should seduce all economic and institutional partners of this exceptional region. The ambition is to become the closing place of the ski season in the Alps.”
