With ongoing uncertainty about the skiing opportunities for the rest of this winter, tour operators and travel companies are stressing that holidays for winter 21-22 are already on sale.
Unsurprisingly perhaps, some are saying booking for holidays due to start in more than a year’s time are ahead of what they would normally be this far in advance.
The UK’s largest ski holiday operator, Crystal, already has discounted early booking offers for winter 21-22 holidays to Canada available too, with savings of around £200pp for holidays in January 2022. Kicking Horse in BC is pictured top.
“We still believe that there is going to be some great skiing to be had at the end of this season, perhaps re-inventing the Christmas that never was during the Easter break,” said Rupert Longsdon of the Oxford Skiing Company, “But as interest grows for next season, this trend will only increase, meaning that whilst time may appear to be on-side, the truth is that things are looking busy already.”
Most operators now have 21-22 holidays on sale including larger companies like Inghams, Ski World and Neilson as well as specialists like Club Med and Le Ski, the latter saying this is the earliest ever they’ve put holidays for the following season on sale.
Airlines have also put flights on sale much further in advance than they would normally have done, with easyJet selling flights right through to late March 2022 already. BA is selling 21-22 flights as well as packaged ski holidays.
Most travel providers have more generous and flexible alteration or cancellation policies in place than was the case before the pandemic in order to reassure those prepared to secure their ski holiday well in advance.
