Ester Ledecka, the Czech snowboarder who amazed the skiing world by winning gold in the Women’s Super G Alpine skiing event at the Olympics last Saturday using skis borrowed from the extensive collection of US star Mikaela Shiffrin (who reputedly brought more than 30 pairs to the PyeongChang Games) has gone on to win her own event, the snowboarding parallel slalom, earlier today.

22-year-old Ledecka has made history by winning gold in both skiing and snowboarding disciplines, as well as for doing so in a single Olympics, beating Germany’s Selina Joerg to win her second gold.
Five other athletes have previously won gold in two different sports at one winter games but ski is the first to do so in what are determined as “unrelated events” with the previous double wins coming in Nordic events.
