Baqueira Beret Announces 2025–26 Ski Season Launch with Five New Slopes and Sustainability Upgrades
Spain’s leading ski area of Baqueira Beret says it will launch its 2025–2026 season later this month with five new slopes and improvements to its snowmaking network
The famous Pyrenean ski resort plans to open on 29 November, weather permitting, and close on 6 April. Along with the new runs there’s a new Ski Track App, upgraded dining options and new environmental initiatives.
For this season, the ski area now boasts 130 runs and 173 skiable kilometres —169 marked and 4 off-piste itineraries— with the addition of five new blue slopes: Cargolh, Lebre 1, Arrianglo, Poric and Sautarèth, ideal for intermediate skiers. Some runs have also been renamed to make orientation easier, and specific improvements have been introduced for beginners, such as the widening of Dera Cascada (Tortuga 2), new connections in Lebre and Clòt der Os, and more accessible routes in key areas such as Orri.
Improved culinary experiences this season include a full renovation of La Perdiu Blanca restaurant at the Hotel Montarto, improving the half-board experience at this 4-star hotel at the foot of the slopes. The former Drinkery has been transformed into a new après ski meeting point with sweet treats. It has been renamed the Xocolateria Jolonch, a recognised brand owned by the traditional confectioner Torrons Vicens. The resort’s iconic slopeside Moët Winter Lounge is also unveiling a new look, with a decor scheme that reinforces its exclusive character.
The resort continues to strengthen its technical capacity with the addition of two new piste groomers equipped with winches, enabling more precise work on steep slopes. In terms of snow production, 14 new snow guns have been installed in Ta Dossau, the lower North Face has been reinforced, and 12 older snowmakers have been replaced with six next-generation units that are more efficient and sustainable. Improvements have also been made to terrain preparation to enhance safety and optimise the snow depth required, thereby increasing overall efficiency.
The main new feature this winter is the Ski Track App, a tool designed to accompany skiers throughout their stay at the resort. The app offers three new functions: it records descents in detail —including kilometres covered, total vertical drop and number of runs; it provides 3D route visualisations to help plan skiing sessions; and it allows users to share their real-time location with others. It also includes an interactive 2D map with geolocation, making it easier to navigate across the entire ski area.
Sustainability remains central to Baqueira Beret’s strategy. This season sees the introduction of innovative initiatives such as waste removal from riverbeds using drones, allowing for more precise and efficient cleaning. Seeding and reseeding work has also been carried out in sensitive areas to protect the ecosystem, and the progressive installation of snow fences continues, with an additional 2 kilometres added in Montgarri, Ruda and the lower section of Dera Cascada. These measures encourage natural snow accumulation and reduce the need for artificial snow production.
