It has been snowing across most of Italy’s mountains over the Easter weekend.
The snowfall that began last week particularly in the west of the country has spread to cover a wider area, including the Dolomites and the Apennines.

Ski areas with particularly big accumulations include Cortina d’Ampezzo, San Martino, Madesimo, Montecampione, Aprica and Alagna which all received 20-40cm of fresh snow.
The deepest cover continues to be in the West of the country with around 4m lying at Cervinia, which still has a month of the season left, but the Dolomites have 1-2m lying also, which should see them through the final weeks of the season comfortably enough, particularly with the recent fresh snow.
