Uber Expand Ski Service

uber, the global transportation phenomenon, has announced it is expanding a new division it operates in the US: “uberSKI”.

uberSKI works in the same way as regular uber services, but drivers guarantee to have space for four passengers and all of their gear, including skis, poles, boots, helmets, goggles, hats, gloves and whatever else you want to bring. There’s an additional $6 (£4.50) pickup fee for users of the service, which can be booked on the app in the usual way, just with an extra tick box.

uberSKI was trialled in Reno, California and Salt Lake City, Utah, last winter and is being expanded this winter at ski hubs including Summit and Eagle counties in Colorado.

uber believe that in some cases it will be cheaper for skiers and boarders to use the service to get to and from the slopes for a day’s skiing than to pay for petrol and parking themselves at the larger, more expensive resorts.
