The summer ski season in Tignes will run from 27th June to the 9th of August this year the resort has announced.

The famous French resort was once open 365 days a year but has fine tuned its offering every season this century the near two month closure from early august to early October when it will re-open for a seven month season from autumn to spring 2016 is the biggest yet.  Nonetheless it continues to operate for by far the longest season in France, open for around nine months in total.

The resort’s Grande Motte glacier is open from 7:15am to 1pm daily in summer with 20kms of piste open served by a dozen lifts, accessible via the Perce-Neige funicular which takes skiers and boarders up to the glacier in just 7 minutes.  Facilities there include training pistes for those on  courses and a snowpark for freestyle fans.

Tignes is offering seven night packages from 145 Euros per person which includes self catering accommodation, based on four sharing, with three days skiing on the glacier, free sports activities and access to the bike park.
