Lech in the Arlberg was the first to report one of the biggest snowfalls to day – 20cm of fresh snow in 24 hours.
The new snow is good news after an often warm past week which led to ‘Spring Like’ conditions – but not sunny spring like – it was stodgy and raining at Kitzbuhel for example on Tuesday

There has been some snow during the past week though, even without the current bigger snowfalls. Many areas received 5-156cm of snow in total, with Kaprun reporting the biggest 7 day accumulation of 29cm, just under a foot.

Base depths are holding up too with 30-70cm on lower slopes at many resorts and 1-2m on upper runs at others. Only some, including Mayrhofen, say they have none left at resort level whilst Obertauern as 1.1m at their hither base.
