There were some good snowfalls in France at the weekend with many areas posting 10-40cm of fresh snow, some, including Tignes and Val d’Isere, reporting as much as 60cm/2 feet on upper slopes.

Now the sun is out once again and conditions are great – so klong as you’re skiing or boarding above about 2,000m as the spring like conditions (well, now it actually is spring so this is normal and no longer early) are tending to make lower slopes sticky otherwise.
Most French areas are open for another 2-4 weeks and most have plenty of snow, particularly on higher slopes, to see them through to the end.
There’s more snow on higher runs in the forecast for the week ahead too, all being well with the French Pyrenees expected to benefit from more big snowfalls towards the end of this week.
