It’s the all-to-common problem of the modern age. Our boss has given us a small bonus and we’re keen to splash out on something a little different for this year’s ski holiday.
But all those luxury chalets with their Michelin-starred chefs, private spas, cinema rooms, chauffeur service and champagne on tap are all rather “samey”, aren’t they?
Well, fear not – your friends at InTheSnow have hunted out those properties that give you extra, and we’ve even found out how to secure them at a bargain price, if your bonus has not been quite as much as you’d hoped.
This month’s pick is Le Petit Palais (guess what that translates to?) in Courchevel 1850 which, along with the inevitable private luxury spa, indoor heated pool, private gym, cinema and massage room features its very own nightclub, bar and casino.
The chalet’s dozen guests (and any non-resident guests they care to invite) can dance the night away while a DJ spins the disks on the twin turntable decks, the sound supplied through some of the world’s sexiest speakers.
There are also various gaming tables and a bar stocked with the finest champagnes, and everything else.
“Gone are the days of getting the ‘choos’ wet in the snow!” enthuses Alice Paisley of The Oxford Ski Company, which lists Le Petit Palais among the 20 properties in their annual Luxury Chalet Collection.
Le Petit Palais offers six floors of designer decadence, has a ski-in, ski-out location on the Bellecote piste and sleeps 12 in six bedrooms, which include an 885ft2 master suite and a VIP suite.
You can save around 60% on the near quarter-of-a-million-euro rental price by booking at the start of end of the season rather than booking over our, or the Russian oligarch’s, New Year.
