Winter sport enthusiasts are in their element 365 days a year in the ski resort of Engelberg, only a short transfer from Zürich airport.
The resort offers high and distinctive mountain skiing with great off-piste, and welcoming accommodation in a town-like setting.
The majority of the 82km of runs are steep reds suitable for intermediates and beyond but it is the more advanced skiers who will get the most out of the mountain. Engelberg is well regarded for is vertical drop runs including the 2000m Galtiberg and 1000m Engstlenalp.
Fans of Engelberg’s Olympic gold medallist, Dominique Gisin, will enjoy the downhill ski racer’s “home run”: at 12 kilometres, this is one of Switzerland’s longest descents.
The TITLIS Rotair is the world’s first revolving cable car, in operation since 1992. It will take you to the top of Mt Titlis with its large panorama windows affording the perfect all-round view. Once at the top, why not try the TITLIS cliff walk suspension bridge – Elevation 3,020 meters. A 500 meter drop.
This winter Engelberg makes a welcome return to the Crystal Ski programme with great offers starting from £731pp.
