A South Korean delegation is reported to be at the Masikryong ski resort in North Korea today (Wednesday 31st January and tomorrow Thursday, February 1st) engaged in joint ski training with North Korea’s team.
South Korea’s Ministry of Unification said the country had sent a 45-person delegation to the North having first sought permission for a charter flight from the United States to ensure that it did not breach UN sanctions. A Ministry spokesperson said Washington had given its consent for the flight.
According to reports the North Korean team will return with the South Koreans ahead of the Pyeongchang Olympics which begins next week on Friday, February 9th.
