Kyle Wise has been crowned Scottish Snowboard Cross Champion after finally making up to the Championships earlier this month, having missed them in previous seasons due to his packed European competition schedule.

“Some told me the Bucharts run at Glenshee was renowned for being flat but I was pleasantly surprised,” said Kyle, “The pitch is ideal for snowboard cross, with a good course for racing, lots of opportunities to overtake and technical enough to make mistakes!”

Kyle qualified first with 53.05s on his first run on the Saturday which turned so windy and wet by the second run that some competitors posted better times on their first run, despite falling over.

On Sunday the weather had improved and after winning all his heats Kyle moved in to first place early on in the final race,

“I got through the tricky drop/left GS/right bank section OK and tucked for the flat. I took a look back and was comfortably ahead, I pumped over the final rollers and jump, riding over the line for the win,” said Kyle.

The win means Kyle whose sponsors include Skiers Trust of Great Britain, Volkl Snowboards, Snowfit, my Travel Cash, CALA Homes, DataWax and Surefoot, is now the current British, Scottish, English and British Indoor Snowboard Cross Champion.

“They’ve already put a date in for the Scottish Championships next year; 5th/6th March 2016 and I’ll do my best to be back to defend my title! It’s a great a competition with lots of fun, racing and the chance to win top prizes.” said Kyle.
