Getting There

Back to Cape Smokey, Nova Scotia

The journey to Cape Smokey is all part of the special experience and adds to the wonder of your ski holiday here.  The Transatlantic flight from London to Halifax is one of the shortest there is, taking just six hours. Or you can fly to Toronto or Montreal and then take a connecting flight to Sydney, the closest domestic airport to Cape Smokey, just 90 minutes away.

The drive from Halifax is less than five hours and an especially pleasant one, compared to many ski area transfers around the world, driving on the very quiet, newly laid, modern highway surrounded by some beautiful scenery.

If you want to splash out there’s also the option of taking a helicopter from Sydney to the ski area with the flight taking just 15 minutes, and again giving you wonderful views, this time from the air, of the beautiful natural world of this little-explored region.
