Breck’s Bobby Brown places 2nd in London Freeze

With Breckenridge due to open in less than a week, it was a good time for local Breckenridge boy – Bobby Brown – to notch up second place in the “Big Air” competition at the recent London Freeze held at Battersea Power Station. Bobby, of course, is used to competing at around 3,000ms. in Breckenridge,so perhaps the extra oxygen available at sea level in Battersea just prevented him from gaining the top position. The attached picture shows Bobby in his more normal setting. At just 18 years old, Bobby has quickly become a phenomen in the skiing world. After taking home gold in the Dew Tour Slopestyle at Breckenridge, he was the third place overall points winner for the tour. He went on to garner a sixth place finish in the X Games. Bobby was voted as a winner the Toyota Go Big Award for his overall performance during Dew, as well as the Playstation Pro Moment Award for his run during the Breckenridge Dew Tour. This past month, he placed first in the New Zealand Open Slopestyle and New Zealand Games Big Air. Bobby has been featured in major industry publications and can be seen in this year’s movie In Deep by Matchstick Productions. Bobby lives in Breckenridge, Colorado, has been on the Breckenridge Freeride Team for two years and trains in Breck’s world renowned Freeway Terrain Park. Keystone opened yesterday – 5th November – one day ahead of schedule with 62 acres of skiable terrain open.
