The Western Canadian province of British Columbia ( BC ) is one of the most spectacular on earth, with magnificent scenery and some of the world’s greatest ski areas. It is home to North America’s largest ski area – Whistler Blackcomb, as well as the one with the biggest lift-served vertical on the continent – Revelstoke.

The area is home to a variety of incredible ski resorts and dramatic national parks with some of the deepest and lightest snow the continent has to offer, and despite recent currency fluctuations, the pound is still riding high against the Canadian dollar.

The list of superlatives goes on – the region is the world capital for heli-skiing and the last Winter Olympics in the western world were staged here in 2010 (and with Korea then China next, they’ll now be the only one in North America or Europe until at least 2026!)

The difficulty is, with so many options, how do you choose which resort to visit? The answer is: a Skiworld road trip! …a multi destination BC ski adventure. It’s easy to combine a carefully selected choice of resorts connected by inspiring scenic drives, into one unforgettable Canadian ski experience.

Powder, steeps, trees, pillows, chutes, spectacular scenery and even heli or cat-skiing! Very few trips are comparable, and with no lift queues in most of these resorts, you have unrestricted access to all of it!

Why take on a multi resort ski tour?

  • Explore multiple resorts and cities in one epic trip
  • Make the most of a trip across the pond
  • It’s not just about the skiing, it’s about the drives between, the landscapes, the culture, the adventure, the sense of freedom, and continuously being inspired and exposed to something new.

The only difficult thing now is choosing which tour is for you?

Here are the options:

Interior BC Scenic Ski Tour

The interior of BC contains stunning mountain scenery which, from November to April, normally receives abundant falls of dry and light powder snow.  This is where the world’s best heli ski companies are based and although you can do a little heli-skiing if you like (day trips are possible at extra cost and subject to conditions and availability for those of intermediate standard and above) – you can ski the same powder in the ski resorts on this tour.

Ski resorts here are world class, but not crowded, and mostly centred on traditional mountain communities where the friendly locals are more than happy to share stories about their mountain towns over a beer and some chicken wings.

Highlights

The Interior BC Scenic Ski Tour takes in three great resorts, including Sun Peaks, Canada’s second largest ski area; Big White one of the best designed ski areas in North America and Revelstoke with its great mountain town and huge skiable vertical providing seemingly endless descents whether on the groomed slopes or out in the deep powder.

Your route takes you through the beautiful Okanagan wine region and provides jaw-dropping views of the Monashee Mountains, particularly from the Grizzly Lodge, your home in Big White.

Luxury BC Tour

If you’re flying to BC, it seems a shame not to make the most of all the luxuries that are available here and maybe take in a bit of sightseeing in the universally acclaimed city of Vancouver too.

The Luxury BC Tour takes you to the best hotels, through spectacular scenery, to the region’s very best resorts and allows you to experience some of the province’s finest food and wine. You’ll get to experience BC’s famous powder in a small intimate group with a day of heli-skiing.

Highlights

You’ll stay in the Four Seasons Vancouver or the Fairmont Waterfront – two of Vancouver’s most revered hotels and enjoy a horse drawn carriage around the city’s famed 1,000 acre Stanley Park.

You’ll see some of the both the best of BC’s coastal and inland scenery with a drive north along the famed Sea to Sky highway to Whistler then along the western end of Highway 1 (the 7800km long road that crosses Canada from the Pacific to the Atlantic oceans) driving from Whistler to Sun Peaks. A highlight of the trip is sure to be a day’s heli-skiing in Panorama with dinner at RK Heliski’s Heliplex lodge.”

Cruise To Calgary Tour

If you want to really ski a sizable number of BC’s best resorts in one trip, the Cruise To Calgary tour takes you right across BC from West To East skiing the province’s biggest and best.  On the way you can take in all the superb scenery and of course enjoy that perfect powder – in fact at one stop, Revelstoke, you have the choice of lift, cat, heli and/or backcountry skiing it all from the one base.

Highlights

Along with skiing at five amazing resorts – Whistler, Big White, Revelstoke, Panorama and Kicking Horse, you get the chance to tackle the 2010 Olympic Bobsled Course and check out the unique Snow Ghosts snow features on the slopes high above Big White. You’ll also get to drive along the famed Powder Highway on the eastern side of the province.

Ultimate Powder Tour

The Ultimate Powder Tour is THE BC ski trip for the serious skier. It’s all about  the snow – that dry, light, fluffy, white stuff for which the province is famous.  The trip takes you to five of BC’s biggest and best resorts, the ski areas with reputations for the biggest snowfalls in Canada.

Highlights

The Ultimate Powder Tour takes you to North America’s biggest ski area Whistler, and the resort with the biggest vertical, Revelstoke, where you can opt to try cat or heli-skiing. The tour also includes the famously snowy resorts of Big White, Panorama and Fernie, where you’ll enjoy a night off from the mountain and take a quick bus to town to watch the local Ice Hockey Team – the perfect Canadian experience to add to your holiday.
