It has been a snowy week in Austria and it’s looking like another snowy one ahead.
Well it’s been a snowy few months really and some snow reporting agencies are saying it’s now the best start to the season, overall, for 21 seasons.

So snow conditions are generally great pretty much everywhere, which isn’t something we’ve been able to say for Christmas week for quite a few years.
As mentioned it has kept snowing in most areas and continues to snow with forecasts of 20-40cm of further accumulations at most areas by Christmas Day.

Austrian areas posting the biggest accumulations of the past week – around 70-80cm include Obertauern, St Johann, Tauplitz and Dachstein west with areas in lower and Upper Austria seeing the most snow.
Base depths have now passed the 3m mark on the Kitzsteinhorn and Dachstein glaciers.
