Breast cancer charity Walk the Walk is seeking participants for its Arctic Marathon, a fundraising event that will be staged in Northern Sweden from 26th February-3rd March 2015.
The42 kilometre course will follow a back country ski trail through the stunning wilderness of the Abisko National Park in Swedish Lapland.
Travelling in small groups of eight or fewer, accompanied by supportive park rangers, Walk the Walk say the trip will be tough but rewarding offering a chance to see the Arctic wilderness without other tourists. There’ll be two days of ski trekking, and three nights in snug mountain lodges looking out for the legendary Northern Lights, followed by two nights of luxury in the iconic Ice Hotel, plus a husky-sled ride to the airport.
Although the challenge will appeal mainly to ski-fans, different levels of skill are supported, so less experienced skiers can join in.
